Me in a antique book store in Kalk Bay, near Cape Town

Yes, It is me, Brian James Emery, writing an update, Finally. This is long overdue. To all my supporters, friends, and family (Hi Mom) I want to apologize for how long this has taken.

So, let's get to why you are reading this, the update.

Y'all, South Africa has been amazing. tough, but amazing. The last few months have challenged me in many ways. Most of the challenges, I had no idea were coming. As many of you know I am on staffing A program called the Discipleship Training School with Youth With A Mission Muizenberg. Our program has 50 students from of 20 different nations, can someone say diversity? The program is 6 months long and has two stages, the lecture phase, and the outreach phase. With our school being so diverse, cross cultural miscommunication is a daily occurrence, multiple views and theologies, and what I would like to call a big, beautiful, stinky mess. Yeah, I said it, stinky. the challenges that come with that are always surprising, and I am thankful for every moment of it.

The purpose and goal of this program is to have students know God, and make Him known. We are currently in the lecture phase, and have had teachings on subjects like character and nature of God, biblical worldview, father heart of God, and many other subjects that have been shaping me, humbling me, challenging me.

On December 21st I am going with this beauty group of people to Uganda for the second stage of the school, Outreach! For the Outreach phase we are going to be doing mostly teaching, preaching, children's ministry, etc. We will be working in a Sudanese refugee camp in northern Uganda, which I am going to assume will be the toughest part of all of outreach. With that being said, I am excited for what will take place over the rest of this school!

The nations repressed here are USA, South Africa,Germany, Netherlands, Brazil, Canada, and Namibia.

The cost of this trip is R30,000, or in dollars is roughly $2,000. I have already paid R12,000 ($850)

and with the money already paid in I was able to buy my flight. Woohoo! that leaves me R18,000 left to pay, which I know I God can provide! If you are interested in supporting me, in prayer or financially, please let me know! You can also support me though my fundraiser page here:

To End this long overdue update, I want to say thank you for everyone who is supporting me with prayer and finances, I am forever thankful. I promise the next update will be posted much sooner. No more radio silence.

Love y'all.
